Starting the day right

Hannah and Jen from Health Synergy here, sharing our second post as part of our wellness-boosting collaboration with Power Super Foods .

The topic for this post is starting the day right.

Getting off to a healthy start first thing of a morning is so important because it establishes your mindset and behavior for the rest of the day.

If you start the day with a nourishing and wholesome breakfast, not only will you feel fuller and more satisfied, but also more motivated to continue to eat well throughout the day.

Starting the day right also decreases the likelihood of snacking and over eating later in the day.

Kickstarting your metabolism

Upon rising, have a glass of hot water and lemon each morning. Doing so helps to kick start the metabolism and re-hydrate the body after sleep. The added Vitamin C boost (from the lemon) also aids digestion and helps to alkalize our system and support detoxification. ⠀

A nourishing breakfast

Enjoy a nourishing, superfood packed breakfast like a smoothie bowl. This is how we at Health Synergy like to start most days. Usually ours will be an acai bowl, alternating between different superfood ingredients such as cacao for a chocolatey twist, or mango and coconut in the warmer months.

 Super Berry Smoothie Bowl

Ingredients

1 tbsp Power Super Foods Acai Powder

1 frozen pitaya sachet

2 frozen bananas

1/4 cup fresh or frozen strawberries

1/2 cup frozen blueberries

1/2 tbsp raw honey

1/2 tbsp Power Super Foods Maqui Powder

1/4 cup coconut water

1 tbsp peanut butter

2 tsp Power Super Foods Maca Powder

 

Method

  • Combine all ingredients in a high-power blender, blend until smooth and creamy.
  • Transfer mixture to bowls and top with your choice of granola, fresh fruits and/or additional peanut butter. Serve immediately.
